The Middleburg community is mourning the tragic loss of Bryce Austin following a deadly head-on crash Wednesday morning on County Road 218.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred near Eagle Point Road and involved two trucks that collided head-on, forcing authorities to close County Road 218 in both directions for several hours while emergency crews responded and investigators processed the scene.

Officials confirmed that one driver died as a result of the collision. That victim was later identified as Bryce Austin.

The second driver involved in the crash was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. Their current condition has not yet been publicly released.
