Authorities confirmed that the I-485 outer loop near West Boulevard was temporarily shut down as crews worked to assist victims, investigate the crash, and clear the roadway.

Motorists in the area experienced major delays Wednesday morning as traffic quickly backed up near the Steele Creek Road corridor.
