Oakland County Sheriff Investigating Carjacking and Shooting Near Old Navy in Auburn Hills Area
Authorities are investigating a violent incident involving a reported carjacking and shooting Tuesday in the Auburn Hills and Orion Township area of Michigan.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting near the Old Navy on Baldwin Road.
Preliminary information indicates the incident involved a carjacking before gunfire erupted in the area, prompting a large law enforcement response.
Witnesses reported seeing numerous sheriff’s deputies and emergency vehicles rushing to the shopping district Tuesday as investigators secured the scene.
Some shoppers described a tense atmosphere as police activity unfolded near busy retail stores along Baldwin Road.

“I saw deputies everywhere and people being told to stay away from the area,” one witness said. “It all happened very quickly.”
